– Registration of United Kingdom Trade Marks Act, since August 22, 1939.

Membership in International Conventions

– Convention Establishing the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), since June 4, 2014.

Filing

Applicant: the registered proprietor of a trademark in the United Kingdom by virtue of an entry in the Register of trademarks kept under any law in force in the United Kingdom.

Registered user: a registered user under the United Kingdom registration may, on application, be entered as a registered user in Tuvalu.

Filing requirements:
1. Power of attorney, signed by applicant;
2. Certified representation of the trademark;
3. Certificate of the Comptroller-General of Patents, Designs and Trade Marks giving full particulars of the registration of the trademark in the United Kingdom.

Protection

Duration: expires with the U.K. patent. 

Renewal: if the U.K. registration is renewed, evidence of the renewal is to be provided with the prescribed fee to renew the Tuvaluan registration. 

Assignment: may be registered. 

Marking: optional.
