The State of Kuwait is located in the Middle East on the northwest shore of the Arabian Gulf. It borders in the northeast on Iraq, and in the south on Saudi Arabia. Kuwait previously established as a dhow building, trading and sea faring nation, has presently established itself as the third largest oil producing country in the world and an effective international financial center.
In the past decade Kuwait has grown socially and demographically due to the large oil revenue. New hospitals, schools and road systems are continually being built. Great emphasis has been placed on building a strong and thriving industrial community.
Due to the lack of natural resources, except for oil and natural gas, Kuwait depends largely on imports to fulfill consumer and industrial needs.
