New Patent and Trademark Laws were approved by the Georgian Parliament on February 4, 1999, and came into force on May 24, 1999. The Patent Law was last amended on May 16, 2023 (in force since June 2, 2023). The Trademark Law amendments are in force since February 21, 2024. The Law of Designs amendments are in force since November 1, 2024. A new law regarding Patent Attorneys came into force on January 1, 2025.
